Which format should I convert to?

The right format depends on how the image will be used:

• JPG — best for photographs and images with many colours. Smaller file size, no transparency support. Most upload portals require JPG.
• PNG — best when you need a transparent background, or lossless quality for illustrations and text. Larger file size than JPG for photos.
• WebP — a modern format offering smaller file sizes than JPG at similar quality. Supported by all modern browsers.

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Upload your PNG file, select JPG as the output format, and click Convert. Because JPG does not support transparency, you can choose a background fill colour (usually white) for any transparent areas in your PNG.

How do I convert JPG to WebP?

Upload your JPG, select WebP as the output format, and adjust the quality slider if needed. WebP at 80% quality typically produces a file around 25–35% smaller than the equivalent JPG.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Format conversion runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your file is never sent anywhere. Like all ToolKB tools, you can verify this by checking your browser's Network tab (F12) during conversion — there are no outgoing file transfers.
