Why compress a signature image?
Online submission forms often enforce strict file-size limits for document uploads, sometimes requiring files to be under 20KB or 50KB. A photo taken with a modern smartphone is typically several megabytes, which will be rejected by these systems.
Because a signature is conceptually simple (dark ink on a light background), very little data is needed to represent it faithfully. This tool compresses your image down to your requested target while attempting to preserve the clarity of the ink strokes.
How the compressor works
